Arch of Constantine was damaged during violent storm

Arch of Constantine, located next to the Colosseum in Rome, was damaged during a violent storm. The Colosseum Archaeological Park confirmed that the monument was struck by lightning.

The triumphal arch, built in the 4th century CE, commemorates the victory of Emperor Constantine over Maxentius. It is approximately 25 meters high and is located near popular tourist spots. Witnesses reported that pieces of stone fell to the ground. Maintenance work has begun to repair damage on the south side of the facility.
