Team from the University of Leicester discovered a Roman mosaic dating back to the 4th century CE.

In the past, the place where the find was found was built up by numerous tenement houses (insulae) and buildings. For this port, scientists excavated the remains of a street and three structures from the ground. Among them is a house whose floor was decorated with the aforementioned mosaic.

Archaeologists plan to move the mosaic and subject it to a conservation process.
