In recent days, archaeologists have informed about an amazing find – a Roman statue without head, arms and legs, which was to show the Roman goddess Diana. On January 18, the head of this statue was discovered in the Italian city of Terracina, in central Italy.
According to specialists, the statue originally stood in the middle of the city’s hot thermal waters. The complex of Roman baths, from the 4th century CE, was discovered during the installation of fuel tanks at a gas station.
These discoveries prove that Terracina was once an important city of antiquity.
