Wreck of Roman fishing vessel has been discovered in Croatia

In Croatia, in the city of Poreč, on the ancient coast of Porta de Mar, a well-preserved wreck of a Roman ship was discovered, which was connected with ropes and wooden nails. According to the researchers, it was probably a small fishing vessel owned by a private person. It is dated to the 1st century CE.

The object measured 5 by 1.7 meters. The well-preserved object is due to the fact that for centuries the air did not reach it and it was in the mud.

The shipwreck, after preliminary research, is to be transported and put on display at the museum in Poreč. According to archaeologists, this is the most important archaeological find in Croatia in the 21st century.
