Roman bust of Hadrian, the emperor who ruled the Roman Empire in 117-138 CE. The object is located in The British Museum in London; discovered in Tivoli (Italy).
Hadrian was depicted as a leader, wearing an officer’s cloak and armor. The emperor did not personally engage in military campaigns; it was therefore an element of imperial propaganda.
