Reconstruction of circus of Maxentius
Reconstruction of the circus of Maxentius, which was built in 306-312 CE on Via Appia in Rome. Probably the object was never used for entertainment purposes.
The chariot races were to be held only once, after the death of Valerius Romulus, and were to honour the deceased son of Maxentius. The circus was part of a larger complex built at the behest of Emperor Maxentius
