Remains of Roman fish processing center in Praia da Luz

In Praia da Luz (south of Portugal), on the seaside of the Atlantic Ocean, there are remains of the Roman centre of salting and fish processing.

In ancient times, this place was a small centre where aqueducts, a small bathhouse and houses were built.

The Algarve region (south of Portugal) was an important source of salted fish for the Romans.
