Slave room was discovered in Pompeii

North of Pompeii, archaeologists have discovered a well-preserved slave room in the villa Civita Giuliana, near the stables. In the room, there were wooden bunks, chamber pots and fragments of harnesses for horses and a carriage.

Numerous vessels and amphoras were also discovered in the room. The beds were 1.7 to 1.4 meters long. Scientists suspect that the room was inhabited by a family of slaves. The room is 16 square meters and has a small window.
