Caligula
Suetonius indicates that the emperor Caligula was heavily mentally unbalanced. Apparently, the ruler was very worried about the fact that under his rule there was no great tragedy that would have gone down in history.
Under the rule of his predecessors something bad has always happened; among others for Augustus the Roman army suffered a disaster in the Teutoburg Forest, while during Tiberius rule the amphitheater in Fideane collapsed, where nearly 50, 000 people were killed. Unfortunately, Caligula’s reign coincided with the period of prosperity.
