Reconstruction of the Roman theater in today’s Toulouse (southern France) from the 1st century CE. The object was able to accommodate up to 8,000 viewers, which was a large number for a city with a population of nearly 30,000.
The object was located in the very center of today’s Toulouse – between La Daurade and Place du Pont Neuf. It was built during the reign of Octavian Augustusus in 27 BCE – 14 CE. To this day, practically no remains of the building have survived, and shops, restaurants and houses have been built on its surface.
