Roman denarius, minted in 48-47 BCE, commemorating the triumph of Julius Caesar in Gaul. The coin is of propaganda nature due to the fact that Caesar was already in a dictatorship at that time.
In the lower part of the coin we can see the defeated Vercingetorix; in the upper trophy erected from Gallic weapon and accessories: shield, helmet and carnyx (Celtic musical instrument). The inscription: CAESAR was also stamped.
