Principia Museum
In the city of Alba Iulia (ancient Apulum) in central Romania, there is an extremely interesting museum where we can admire many interesting objects related to ancient Rome.
The Principia Museum has the foundations of the Roman camp where the XIII Gemina legion once stationed. Apulum was created during Trajan’s Dacian wars at the beginning of the 2nd century CE and was a strong fortification on the northern border of the Empire.
In the museum, we can see, among others statues of Trajan, Hadrian, Marcus Aurelius, Septimius Severus and Caracalla. This place primarily depicts the life of Roman legionaries, the camp and the Dacian.
The museum was opened in 2015.
