The portrait of a young woman stuck to the mummy with bandages was assumed to be the deceased. Scientists using x-rays estimated the age of the deceased at age 40, which suggests that the portrait shows the deceased in adolescence.
There is also an inscription in Greek on the mummy’s bandages – ΕΥΨΥΧΙ ΕΥΔΑΙΜΟΝΙ – which translates as “Goodbye, be happy” or simply “Goodbye”, and the name of the deceased “Eudaimon”.
The style of the hairstyle suggests that the woman lived during the reign of Hadrian (117-138 CE). It is worth mentioning that the mummy has perfectly preserved shapes, which is due to the fact that strips of wood are placed between the body and the bandages.
