In northern Lincolnshire (England), scientists discovered nearly 30,000 different objects and finds from different historical periods. Among them are ceramics from the Bronze Age and a Roman burial.
The excavations are part of a project to build the world’s largest wind farm. The discoveries will be at the Scunthorpe Museum. Among others, the following were dug out of the ground:
- oyster shells that were arguably extremely popular in Tetney’s Roman times.
- ceramics from the Bronze Age
- traces of a Roman-British center
- remains of 2 medieval salt processing sites
- items made of bone or metal (including coins, brooches, knives, nails)
- two burial sites (medieval and roman)
