Roman remains were found in Lisbon

Portuguese archaeologists came across the remains of a Roman cemetery. Among the finds are bones and artifacts from 2000 years ago.

The discovery occurred when the owners of a nearby restaurant decided to expand their business. However, before the construction works began, the city asked the archaeological team to search the place. To everyone’s surprise, a necropolis was found, where were 25 bodies, 35 remains from cremation, ceramics and coins. All objects were transported to the laboratory for testing.

Lisbon in Roman times was called Olissipo.
