Reconstruction of a gigantic 13-meter statue of Constantine was placed in the Capitoline Museums, in the gardens of Villa Caffarelli in Rome. The object was created using 3D modeling technology.
The emperor is shown in a seated position, wearing a gilded tunic, holding a scepter and an orb. The statue was shown in Milan last year.
The original sculpture has not survived in its entirety; its fragments (head, right arm, right hand, right knee, right shin, part of the calf, right and left foot, wrist and part of the chest) are in the Capitoline Museums. It was the preserved fragments of the sculpture that made it possible to recreate the entire composition.
