In North Lincolnshire, near Winterton, in England, a large Roman cemetery from Roman times was discovered. In its area more than 60 burials have been found, which are dated to the 2nd – 4th century CE.
The cemetery was well laid out, and the graves were arranged in rows, which proves that bodies of several generations have certainly been buried here. Beyond the graves, ceramics, bracelets or even a sheep’s leg were found.
Subsequent research is aimed at getting to know the dead people and all artifacts will be transported to the local museum.
