Roman mosaic showing the three Graces. The object was found in the House of Apollo in Pompeii. Dated to the 1st century CE. At the moment, it is in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples.

Graces (Roman equivalents of the Greek Charites) were the goddess of grace, beauty and joy. These goddesses loved dancing, playing and music. They looked after young people and patronized the fine arts. Their names are: Aglaea (“Splendor”), Euphrosyne (“Good Cheer”), and Thalia (“Festivity”).
