The source of knowledge about the life of the Romans are mainly works left to us by ancient writers or discoveries. The Romans left behind a lot of strange information and facts that are sometimes hard to believe.

Emperor Trajan depicted as a pharaoh. To the left of the character are hieroglyphic names, preceded by the titles of King of Upper and Lower Egypt and Son of Ra. The object is located in Dendera (Upper Egypt), in the temple complex.
Various Roman or barbarian finds from Belgrade. Dated to I-VI century CE. The objects are brooches. Those can be seen at the City Museum in Belgrade (Serbia).
Bust of a 3-year-old Martial who was born and died as a slave. The monument was commissioned by the boy’s owner. The hairstyle suggests that the boy lived during the reign of Emperor Trajan (98-117 CE).
