The world of ancient Romans abounded in a number of amazing curiosities and information. The source of knowledge about the life of the Romans are mainly works left to us by ancient writers or discoveries. The Romans left behind a lot of strange information and facts that are sometimes hard to believe.

Dog from Volubilis

Roman sculpture from Volubilis (present northern Morocco) showing a dog. The object was found in 1916 and dates back to the beginning of the 2nd century CE. Currently, the artifact is in the Archaeological Museum in Rabat.

Roman pediment of the funerary altar. The inscription is not preserved, however it is suspected that the woman was the mother of both men who look respectfully at her. The object comes from the 2nd century CE.
