Bust of Fulvia Plautilla - wife of Caracalla

Roman marble bust of Fulvia Plautilla, the wife of the emperor Caracalla. The marriage was unhappy, and never consumed according to Cassius Dio.

Once her father – Plautianus – was accused of plotting and killed; Plautilla was abandoned and banished. After 212 CE she was killed on order of Caracalla.
