Part of a Roman earring with images of emperors
Part of Roman earring with portraits of emperors

Part of Roman earring with portraits of emperors. Probably dated to the 3rd-4th century CE.

The decoration is made of chalcedony and gold. Images of emperors are characterized by delicate and round faces and “sleepy eyes” – this is specific for the images of the late Empire; especially the third and fourth century.

You can also see the hierarchy – the bearded figure is closer.
