Tombstone of Marcus Favonius Facilis is one of the best preserved sculptural works found in Britain.
From the object we can read that Marcus Favonius Facilis was a centurion and served in the XX legion in Colchester. He died a few years after 43 CE, when the invasion of emperor Claudius to Britain took place.
Facilis was buried in the cemetery on the main road to Londinium.
