In northern Morocco, in the former Roman province of Mauritania Tingitana, a team of Polish and Moroccan archaeologists discovered a Roman defense tower.
The tower was on the southern border of the Roman province, about 2 km from the nearest garrison and about 6.5 km from the city of Volubilis.
According to the media, archaeological work in El Mellali began in 2021. Apart from the foundations of the tower, the remains of Roman javelins, military sandals and belts were found.
