Fresco depicting Theseus and Ariadne in Pompeii discovered | Photo: POMPEII ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK
The ongoing excavation work at Pompeii has brought another amazing discovery. This time, scientists found a beautifully preserved wall fresco depicting the mythical Theseus and Ariadne. The scene shows the moment when Theseus leaves the sleeping Ariadne, who previously helped him kill the Minotaur.
The excavation director Massimo Osanna informed about the discovery.
