In the south-east of England, in the village of Cressing, traces of roundhouses from the 1st century CE were found that scientists believe may have been destroyed by the Romans after the suppression of the Boudica uprising (61 CE).

Many interesting finds have been found near Przemyśl, including the Roman coin of Hadrian. The discovery took place in Walawa (south-eastern Poland).

Seventy-six pages and 50 illustrations from the great Latin piece Virgil will be made available digitally by the Vatican Library. This is part of a project to digitize 80,000 manuscripts.

Police in York (England) have released a camera video showing two men who stole from a store, incl. Roman jewellery.

Thanks to the “Swedish Pompeii Project” we have the opportunity to see one of the Pompeian tenement houses in 3D. The user can select a room and move around it.

In the Roman fort of Vindolanda, more than 400 men’s, women’s and children’s size shoes were found. In total, more than 7,000 shoes from Roman times have been discovered at the excavation site, located in England between the rivers Tyne and Solway.

In central France, in the city of Autun (ancient Augustodunum), a completely preserved vase from the end of the Roman Empire was discovered during excavations in the ancient cemetery.

In North East Wales, at Wrexham, a Roman villa was discovered that dates back to the early 4th century CE. The discovery was made by seekers of ancient artefacts.

In eastern Serbia, in the ancient Viminacium, the foundations of a large building that scientists believe could be the headquarters of the VII Claudia Legion.

In Pompeii another sensational discovery was made – the bodies of the owner and his slave were dug out of the ground. Scientists were also able to determine that the master died at the age of 40, wearing a warm coat, and the slave in young age and wearing only a tunic.
