In the autumn of last year, scientists made a very interesting discovery – in the ruins of the Golden House of Nero in Rome, the remains of an unknown chamber were found.
On one of the walls, among others there is a mural depicting the Sphinx – hence the name of the newly discovered chamber – the Sphinx Chamber. Other frescoes depict Fauna fighting the panther, various species of birds and sea animals.
According to the researchers, a large part of the chamber, and probably the paintings there, are still buried in the ground. Researchers suspect that it could have been an exhibition space for works of art.
