In 2014, it was possible to recreate the appearance of the Roman fort Segontium from 70 CE by computer. It is believed that the fort could house a detachment of 1,000 soldiers auxilia.
The fortress existed until the 4th century CE and throughout this period it was constantly rebuilt. It was located on the north coast of Wales. The ruins of this fortress are now believed to be the remains of Caernarfon.
