In 2017, in Wales, where a nuclear power plant is to be built, traces of a Roman-British settlement dated to 43-410 CE were probably found.
Before construction began, scientists visited the site of the future construction site to assess whether there were any artefacts and “remnants of the past” in the area of 100,000 square meters. Both professional and non-professional archaeologists participated in the discovery of the site.
The result of their work are the discovered ditches and traces of sewage systems, which prove that in this place there was once a Roman-British settlement from the 4th-5th century CE. It is believed to be one of the first settlements in the north of Anglesey.
