At the Colosseum, you can still meet people dressed as Roman soldiers or centurions who extort money from tourists.

According to Onet.pl, an exemplary situation took place in August this year, when pseudo-artists posed with tourists in front of the Colosseum, and then demanded payment from them, even in the amount of 500 euros. When tourists said they had no money, they were forced to go to an ATM and withdraw money. Other cases mention threats of beatings. The local police are investigating.

The police also indicate not to use the services of “dressers”, and in the event of their appearance, the nearest services should be informed. It should be mentioned that a law was introduced prohibiting such “work” under the Coliseum under the threat of a fine.
