Roman ceramics, ranging from 2,000 to 2,400 years old, will undergo modern research. The objects have been in the Capitoline Museum in Rome for over a hundred years.
In order to examine the set, neutron activation analysis will be used. In this way, scientists will be able to find out the type of clay and its place of origin. In addition, the ceramics are to be scanned with high-resolution structured light technology. This will create 3-D images that will allow you to recognize which scratches on objects were caused by use in antiquity and which were created recently.
