Excavations outside the walls of the Roman fort Camelon in central Scotland have brought new discoveries.

Found, among others for arrowheads, 12 studs, traces of grain or the remains of a bread oven. All these items and many other once useless “rubbish” were discovered in the pits. The finds are dated between 41 BCE and 116 CE.

The arrowheads are blunt, suggesting that they were probably used by soldiers for training. In the pits, there were also fragments of pottery, dating from the middle of the 1st to the 3rd century CE, brought from northern Gaul.
