Archaeologists in early August 2016 began excavations in Lufton (England) to recover the remains of a Roman villa and octagonal thermal baths.
The excavations were scheduled for a month to continue work that was abandoned in 1960. Lufton is located in Somerset, near Yeovil, in the South West of England.
Project leader Dr James Gerrard said that the most interesting building is probably the bathhouses, which have an unusual shape with eight walls. A team of scientists sought permission to resume the work for almost 12 months.
At the end of the excavations, it was announced that the 3D scanner would be used to visualize the building on a computer in order to be able to look at it even better. More photos in the source.
