Editorial requirements

This post is also available in: Polish (polski)

IMPERIUM ROMANUM is a place where you can publish your own articles devoted to the history of ancient Rome. The easiest way is to send your work to the e-mail address: kontakt@imperiumromanum.pl or via form. I would like to ask all authors to comply with the following editorial requirements on the website IMPERIUM ROMANUM. In the event of non-compliance with the requirements, the text may be returned to the author for corrections or rejected.

Rules for texts sent by e-mail

  1. Articles should be written in Times New Roman 12 font with 1.5 line spacing.
  2. Articles should be saved in the following format: .docx, .doc or .odt.
  3. Each text should contain a lead, which is an introductory paragraph that summarizes the most important information about the article. Its task is to interest the reader and encourage him to read the entire article.
  4. The text must be the author’s work.
  5. Each entry must have a featured image; these can be included in the document. However, if the quality of the image is extremely poor, it is recommended to send separate image files by e-mail. Then you should include a description of the photos in the e-mail or in the article and indicate the proposed place of placing them in the text. Acceptable file formats are: .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png. Photos/illustrations should be made by the author, have a free license or belong to the public domain.
  6. Titles of books, articles, works, etc. should be written in italics, as well as words or short phrases from a foreign language. We do not use double quotation marks, e.g. “About editorial requirements”.
  7. The names of the months should be given in words (e.g. January, August). Recommended date formula: e.g. March 15, 44 BCE. Specific years should be marked with the abbreviation BCE or CE.
  8. If the author wants to provide the source of information in the footnotes or bibliography or indicate the development of the topic, the following formula should be used:
Name and Surname, Title of the book, City, year of publication.
  9. Remaining issues not covered are left to the discretion of the author.
