Golden aureus Marcus Junius Brutus, one of the murderers of Julius Caesar. Object dated to 43-42 BCE. The artifact is in The British Museum.
The coin was minted during Brutus and Cassius’ stay in western Asia Minor or northern Greece and was of a propaganda character during their rivalry with Octavian, Mark Antony and Marcus Lepidus.
