Golden aureus Marcus Junius Brutus , one of the murderers of Julius Caesar . Object dated to 43-42 BCE. The artifact is in The British Museum.
The coin was minted during Brutus and Cassius’ stay in western Asia Minor or northern Greece and was of a propaganda character during their rivalry with Octavian , Mark Antony and Marcus Lepidus .
