Reconstruction of the Seaside Caesarea

Reconstruction and comparison of Caesarea Maritima in ancient times and the modern world. Caesarea was once a prosperous ancient city that Herod the Great founded.

With the establishment of Judea as a Roman province, the city became the seat of prosecutors and the capital of the province. Emperor Vespasian gave the city the title of the colony – Colonia Primo Flavia Augusta Caesariensis.
