Roman bust showing priest
Roman bust showing priest

Roman marble bust depicting a priest. Object dated to the 2nd century CE. The artifact is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

There is a round tiara on the head, which, according to scientists, suggests that it could have been a priest of an assumed Egyptian deity – for example Serapis.
