Roman fresco depicting the punishment of the Theban queen Dirce. The painting is from Pompeii and dates back to around 30 CE. Currently, the artifact is in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples (Italy).
According to the myth, the queen was to be tied to the horns of the animal by the brothers Amphion and Zethus. This story was eagerly presented in culture.
