In 2015 happened another example of vandalism on the majestic monument of Rome. Two young (21 and 25 years old) American women carved with a coin letters on the ancient wall. Then they made a “selfie” on her background. Other visitors noticed this, and the protection called for the carabinieri. This is another act of vandalism on Roman monuments.
The press reminds that in November 2014, a Russian tourist carved a huge initial on the restored passage of the Colosseum. He was sentenced immediately to 4 months of suspended detention and 20, 000 euros fine.
Also recently, a 15-year-old Canadian student during a school trip broke off a piece of the Flavian Amphitheater wall and tried to hide it in his backpack. Other, a 12-year-old Australian, carved his name, once his father hepled him.
