In western Turkey, in the ancient city of Aizanoi, were discovered coins with the image of, among others, Julius Caesar. The discovery was made in 2019, but only now has the information been released to the public.

A total of 651 silver coins were discovered in the vessel. According to experts, the coins were minted in southern Italy. The coins show Octavian Augustus, Julius Caesar, Brutus or Mark Antony. Researchers suspect that the treasure may have been brought to this region by a high-ranking Roman soldier.
