In central England, in the village of Kingsey, Roman jewelry was discovered engraved with a chariot drawn by four horses. The object is dated from the 1st-3rd century CE.
Interestingly, the Roman stone was reused after the fall of Rome, and between the 5th and 7th centuries it became part of the pendant that the Angles wore to demonstrate their attachment to antiquity.
