Scupltured head of woman was discovered in Turkey
A carved woman’s head was discovered in the ancient city of Tyana in southern Turkey. According to researchers, the object is dated either to the 1st century CE, or more precisely to the rule of the Flavian dynasty (69-96 CE), or to the beginning of the 2nd century CE.
The high quality of the marble from which the likeness was made suggests that the woman came from higher social class. The object will be on display at the local museum.
