In the eastern part of England, in Lincolnshire, human remains, ceramics and foundations of buildings were found that date back to Roman times. Scientists estimated that the finds date back to the 2nd-3rd century CE.
The discovered skeletons belonged to several adults and at least eight newborns. Animal bones, roof tiles, an iron sickle, a copper spoon, various brooches, almost 400 Roman coins and the foundations of a furnace were also found there.
The discovery was made during construction works on a new road – Grantham Southern Relief Road.
