Scientists have discovered traces of three Roman camps in northern Arabia. The westernmost fort was much larger than the other two. The discovery was made by analyzing satellite images.
Scientists still do not know for sure what period the camps come from; it is possible that they date back to 106 CE when Rome officially incorporated Nabatea into its borders and created the province of Arabia.
