After almost 50 years, the Roman statue of the god Bacchus, who was presented as a boy, returned to the French museum Musée du Pays Châtillonnais. The facility was stolen in 1973 along with five thousand Roman coins.

Thanks to the completed works in Colosseum, tourists have the opportunity to visit the underground corridors of the building. Thus, the second of the three renovation phases of this enormous building has ended.

The Italian government finally approved plans to create a remote-controlled, foldable deck at the Colosseum. The project was prepared by Milan Ingegneria. The new area will be located inside the building; interestingly, the original surface was removed in the 19th century to reveal underground structures.

The famous Roman mosaic showing a leopard attacking an antelope was purchased for £150,000. The facility was discovered in 1974 in Dorset, southern England, and dates back to the 4th century CE.

In northern England, in the county of Cumbria, there are remains of the Roman fort Epiacum, which was built at the beginning of the 2nd century CE. The site received support of £10,000 from a private investor.

In Pompeii, the renovated Antiquarium (Antiquarium Parco Archeologico Pompei) was opened on January 25, a place where we will learn the history of the ancient city from the Samnite period to 79 CE.

An interesting Roman monument will be on display at the Ceredigion Museum in West Wales – the remains of a unique Roman vessel that comes from a Roman villa discovered in Abermagwr.

The Italian Ministry of Culture has launched a tender to rebuild the arena at the Colosseum. Sum of 18.5 million EUR was allocated for this purpose. Companies will be able to take part in the tender from January 1, 2021.
