Undoubtedly, 2020 was a difficult year, but despite the unusual situation in which the whole world has found itself, the last months have been used to improve the website and adjust the content to the requirements of the Readers.
From here I would like to thank all Patrons and Donors who support me financially and enable the development of IMPERIUM ROMANUM. Big thanks also to programmer Grzegorz, who regularly improves new functionalities. So what was also implemented at that time?
Cleaned and pinned menu
The MENU has been organized and simplified for users on the computer. The individual sections are on the vertical MENU on the left, which makes it much easier to find the desired topic. In the top MENU, there is also a search engine that makes it easy to quickly find content by phrase.
Moreover, the MENU has been pinned to the top of the page, which makes it easier to navigate the page, even if you scroll down and read an article.
Convenient footnote
From now on, when viewing the website in the classic and mobile version, the reader has the option to click a footnote, thanks to which the content of the footnote appears in the cloud. This is an extremely useful solution in my opinion.
Loupe and photo zooming
A loupe graphic has been introduced when hovering over the photo, suggesting the possibility of enlarging the graphic. Moreover, some photos (which are in better resolution) can be zoomed in. A very useful solution for all kinds of inscriptions and details.
Option to quickly report errors (CTRL + Enter)
In the classic version (on the computer) it is possible to quickly report an error in the content, appearance and any other issues. Just select the content and press CTRL + Enter on the keyboard. Thanks to this solution I can quickly fix any stupid errors that you notice :)
Other solutions and improvements
- optimization aimed at speeding up the website after numerous fixes – in progress;
- facilitating publishing content on social media, which relieved me a lot;
- changed font for headings to be more “roman” :)
- further development of the website in Polish and English;
- gradual improvement in the quality of photos (some were even uploaded in 2006);
- any additional fixes that were required in the meantime.
