In south-eastern Poland, in a field in Dołhobyczów, Roman coins were found that date back to the 1st-2nd century CE. Coins are silver denarii, which were minted during the governments of e.g. Emperor Vespasian (69-79 CE), Emperor Hadrian (117-138 CE) or Marcus Aurelius (161-180 CE).
Scientists believe that the coins to the present Polish lands were brought by the Vandals or the Goths who lived in these areas.
The artefacts were donated to the Museum in Hrubieszów.
