In 2016, a large Gallo-Roman villa was discovered in Brittany, France. The discovery was made by accident, during the preparations for the construction of a new housing estate.
As it turns out, the found Roman house is unique in the region. Never before have there been such large private baths in Brittany. The villa is located on the bank of the Rance River in Langrolay-sur-Rance, 14 km from Dinan.
A Gallo-Roman structure built on a U-shaped plan surrounded a central courtyard. Private thermal baths were 400 m2 and the whole house dates back to the 4th century CE.
