Roman bust of emperor Gallienus (ruing 261-268 CE). Object currently located in Louvre Museum (Paris, France).

His rule was during hard times – so-called Crisis of the Third Century. Gallienus tried to rationally resolve conflicts in the state, strengthen internal structures and maintain the relative unity of the empire.
