Roman fort Ardoch
Roman fort Ardoch

Roman fort Ardoch was located near the village of Braco, in Perthshire, Scotland. Currently there is green grass; However, what is amazing is great today to see the outline of the fort, ditches and entry roads.

The fort was probably built in the first century CE, during the campaign of Agricola. Later, the fort was rebuilt and supplemented with two additional ditches. In this way, the fort was finally surrounded by five defensive trenches.

Scientists also managed to find traces of the watchtower and at least six overlapping marching camps north and northeast of the fort.
